Swimmer's Nose Clip

Swimmer's nose clip is commonly used by beginners while swimming. This prevents water from entering the nasal cavity. This same clip can be used as a first aid tool to manage anterior epistaxis. This clip when applied to patients with anterior epistaxis (commonly from little's area) will apply pressure to the bleeding spot causing bleeding to stop due to tamponading effect.

On application of this clip patient should be warned to keep their mouth open while breathing. Just 5-10 minutes of application is usually sufficient to stop anterior nasal bleeds.
